Stocking Fillers for Women: $25, $40 and $60 Stockings

Stocking Fillers for Women: $25, $40 and $60 Stockings

Good stocking fillers for women come down to one thing she can wear, one thing she will use and one treat she likes, chosen to fit a total you set for the whole stocking before you shop. At TipSoxx's Black Friday prices, checked on 3 November 2026, that is about $25, $40 or $60 a stocking, with the treat bought locally. We sell the socks, scrunchies and towels in these stockings; the treat is up to you. Oxford Learner's Dictionaries marks "stocking filler" as British English and "stocking stuffer" as the North American word, so stocking stuffers for women are the same small presents.Ditsy Floral Scalloped Silky Hair Scrunchies in pink and light blue pastel colors on flat lay white backgroundFeatured: Mini Floral Silky Scrunchie ($12.99) — a gentle, everyday hair accessory that makes an easy stocking filler.

How much should a stocking for her cost?

A complete stocking costs from about $25 to about $60 at our Black Friday prices, and the exact number matters less than setting it for the whole stocking, treat included, before you buy anything. Stocking fillers for her are priced one at a time, so a figure for the whole stocking is what tells you when to stop.

Budgeting for Christmas is common. A Monash Business School survey of 1,014 adult Australian shoppers, published on 10 December 2025, found that half of Christmas gift-givers make a budget. The same survey found shoppers planned to spend an average of $466 on immediate family and $182 on friends, so it is normal for a partner's or mum's stocking to cost more than a friend's.

A total also works better than a cap on each item. With a $10 limit per item, a $12.99 silky scrunchie she would use every week is ruled out, while five $9.99 items still pass and come to $49.95. With a $40 total, you can put $24.98 into a pair of ruffle crew socks and a scrunchie and keep $15 for the treat.

If you are filling stockings for several women, decide all the figures at once, because buying for them in one order changes what you pay in postage. Write each name and her figure on one list before you open a shop page.

What to put in a ladies stocking

A ladies stocking needs three things: something she can wear, something she will use and a treat she likes. Keeping to those three stops it turning into a bag of lollies or a pile of things for the house, and a bigger budget buys a better version of each instead of more items.

Accounts from people who fill or receive stockings fit these slots. We read the top comments in nine threads, eight about stockings and one about gifts from husbands, most of them from posters outside Australia, and kept more than 40 that named an item. Socks came up in five of the nine: one poster in r/AskWomen in 2016 was thrilled with about five new pairs, another gets alpaca socks from their mum most years because of chronically cold feet (r/AskWomen in 2019), and socks are a fixture in several families' stockings in an r/Gifts thread on what families put in stockings. Two posters describe a mix close to the three slots here. One, in a 2026 r/Gifts thread, recalled their mother saying the perfect stocking had "something to eat, something to wear, something to bathe with, and something to read". Another, in the family thread, swaps stockings with a partner and usually puts in something to snack on, something practical and something just for fun.

For the thing to wear, socks need less size guessing than most clothing. Our women's socks are mostly one size, which the product pages for the socks in the three stockings list as EU 36 to 40, or a foot 22 to 26 cm long, so check that she is not at either end of that range; what size socks do I need explains how to tell.

The useful slot is for small things that wear out or go missing: hair ties and bobby pins, lip balm, hand cream, nail scissors, a spare phone charging cable, or a travel-size lotion taken out of a toiletry set you were buying anyway. Our scrunchies fit here, from $12.99 for the silky styles in a silk-touch fabric to $14.99 for the plush ones with a teddy bear or bunny. So do our hanging hand towels at $9.99, which have a loop for a kitchen or bathroom hook and come in two Christmas prints, Gingerbread House and Reindeer Stocking. Choose something she would use herself. A Christmas towel suits a woman who decorates her own kitchen for the season, but for a partner whose kitchen you share it can read as a present for the house, and a scrunchie is the safer choice.

Beauty products are where opinions split. One poster in an r/Gifts thread on stocking stuffers for women said the scented creams, face masks, bath bombs and nail polish they are given mostly go into a drawer, and in a 2023 UK thread on Mumsnet about stocking fillers for women around 60, three posters ruled out bath products, scarves or gloves, while others there asked for hand cream or nail polish. A poster in r/GiftIdeas took the other side: they love bath bombs and called them indulgent. The rule for the useful slot, something she would use herself, matters most here: a cream, mask or polish has a scent, shade or skin type to get wrong, and a hair tie or scrunchie has none, so choose a hair thing unless you know which beauty products she buys. One poster in the 2019 r/AskWomen thread said a big batch of Invisibobble hair ties from their mum was still in use a year later, with only two broken, both chewed by a cat.

The treat should suit her taste, whatever yours is: her favourite lollies, a scratchie, or chocolate only if she eats it. Orange chocolate shows why. In the 2016 r/AskWomen thread, one poster named a chocolate orange as their favourite treat and part of what makes it Christmas; in the family thread, a poster called the year of chocolate oranges a flop; and in an r/AskAnAustralian thread on the worst gifts from husbands, one poster's birthday present was a box of orange flavoured chocolates, though they don't like orange and don't eat chocolate. If she reads, a paperback can stand in for the treat, and any other idea that fits none of the three slots can take the treat's place the same way or stay out of the stocking.

The same three slots work as stocking fillers for adults of any age. A Christmas print is mostly a December thing, so if you want the stocking to last past the holidays, pick an everyday print for the wear or use item; our hanging towels also come in everyday designs such as Cute Cartoon Sheep.

Three stockings at Black Friday prices

At Black Friday prices checked on 3 November 2026, the three stockings below come to $24.98, $39.98 and $60.98. Every pair of socks in them is at its Sale price, which holds while the Black Friday sale runs, and the scrunchies and the towel are at their everyday prices because they are not discounted. The treat column is an assumed budget for something you buy locally, so change it to suit her.

Stocking To wear To use Treat (assumed budget) Total
About $25 Polka Dot Women's Ankle Socks, $9.99 Christmas Gingerbread House hanging hand towel, $9.99 $5 $24.98
About $40 Ribbon Charm Ruffle Women's Crew Socks, $11.99 Polka Dot Silky Hair Scrunchie, $12.99 $15 $39.98
About $60 Color Block Grip Socks, $15.99 Teddy Bear Gingham Plush Scrunchie, $14.99 $30 $60.98

The $40 stocking swaps the ankle pair for a crew sock with a ribbon and ruffle, 80% cotton according to its product page, and the towel for a silky scrunchie. The $60 stocking moves to non-slip grip crew socks made for Pilates and yoga, a plush scrunchie with a teddy bear, and twice the treat budget. Our order records for November and December 2025 show the Color Block Grip Socks were the most-ordered style online, 11 of the 62 pairs.

For your wife, start from the $60 stocking and spend the $30 treat on something only you would know she wants. If she does not go to Pilates or yoga, the Women's Polka Dot Combed Cotton Crew Socks at $13.99 can take the grip socks' place, which brings the stocking to $58.98.

At the original prices shown on the product pages, the same three stockings would be $27.98, $42.98 and $63.98. If a pair has sold out, another Sale style at the same price keeps the total where it is.

Does postage break a small budget?

For one stocking ordered on its own, it does: our standard shipping is $11 on an order under $69, so the $25 stocking becomes $35.98, the $40 stocking $50.98 and the $60 stocking $71.98. Orders over $69 after discounts ship free, which is where filling several stockings in one order pays.

No two of these stockings reach $69 together; the largest pair, the $40 and $60 stockings, comes to $55.96 from us. All three together come to $75.94, so they ship free:

Three stockings, items from TipSoxx Three separate orders One order
Three pairs of socks $37.97 $37.97
One towel and two scrunchies $37.97 $37.97
Standard postage $33.00 Free (order over $69)
Paid to TipSoxx $108.94 $75.94
With $50 of treats bought locally $158.94 $125.94

One order saves $33, and all of it is postage: three orders under $69 pay $11 each, while the combined order pays nothing. The order to avoid is the second or third one placed a week after the first.

A fourth pair changes the sums again. Build a Pack, our standing offer of 20% off four or more eligible pairs, has run since June 2026 and stays on while the Black Friday sale runs; only the $3-off Sale prices belong to the sale. The three pairs in these stockings are eligible, but scrunchies and hand towels do not count toward the four. Adding a fourth eligible $9.99 pair, for a fourth stocking or for yourself, switches on 20% off all four pairs: $47.96 less 20% is $38.37 (the cart may show $38.36), about 40 cents more than the three pairs cost on their own.

Our order records for November and December 2025 show what a multi-buy price does. At our in-person sales, 25 of 57 orders were exactly three pairs, and 24 of those 25 had a discount applied, 16 of them "buy 2 get 1 free". Online, all 11 orders of three or more pairs had a discount. Discounted multi-buys are what sold, which is a reason to watch for multi-buy offers when you fill several stockings, and nothing more.

Full offer terms and the order-by dates for each state are in our Black Friday guide. If you are filling a fourth stocking anyway, put its pair in the same order.

Fillers that suit an Australian summer

Christmas falls in summer here, so keep chocolate out of a stocking that hangs overnight in a warm house, where it can soften before anyone opens it. Put it in on Christmas morning straight from the fridge, or pick a treat that copes with heat: hard lollies, salted nuts, a scratchie or a small bottle of hot sauce.

A scrunchie gets used on hot days, when hair goes up off the neck, which is why the $40 and $60 stockings both carry one.

Polka Dot Women's Ankle Socks from TipSoxx in grey, blue and pink bands with purple dots

Polka Dot Women's Ankle Socks, $9.99 while the Black Friday sale runs, 63.9% cotton with a seamless toe. Product photo from TipSoxx.

For the thing to wear, cotton ankle socks suit a December stocking better than thick winter socks. The Polka Dot and Bear Dots ankle socks are 63.9% cotton with a seamless toe, according to their product pages, and sit low in sneakers and other summer shoes. Our wool-blend crews at $18.99 are better kept for a woman in a cooler part of the country, or for a winter birthday, so pick the cotton pair unless she lives somewhere cool.

Is the sale price real?

A sale price is a real saving when the item sold at the "was" price before the sale. The ACCC's Price displays page says a "was" price can be misleading if the item was not sold at that price for a reasonable period right before the sale started.

Our order records for 1 September to 1 November 2026, the two months before our Black Friday sale started on 2 November 2026, show the Polka Dot ankle socks selling at $12.99 on 12 September and 1 November, the Animal Friends ankle socks at $12.99 on 27 September, 11 October and 1 November, and the Color Block Grip Socks at $18.99 on 12 September, 10 October and 28 October (Sydney dates). Those are the "was" prices these three products now show beside the $9.99 and $15.99 prices in our Sale collection.

Before you buy socks for someone else, check the returns rule. Items in the Sale collection cannot be returned or exchanged for a change of mind under our refund policy, though your rights under the Australian Consumer Law for faulty or misdescribed goods still apply. If you are not sure she fits EU 36 to 40, give a scrunchie in place of the socks, since it has no size to get wrong.

Which stocking should you fill?

Give the $25 stocking to a friend or a sister-in-law, the $40 stocking to your mum or sister, and the $60 stocking to your partner. Put every stocking's socks, scrunchies and towel in one order while the Black Friday sale runs, then buy the treats last and keep any chocolate in the fridge until Christmas morning.
